Lyle
Romine
-
Farm
Director
Lyle Romine knows farming and it shows. With more than 35 years of experience in the radio industry, Lyle’s conversational, friendly on-air style is 100 percent natural…just the kind of voice that thousands of farm and ranch listeners tune to for information they can count on. In other words, Lyle is the kind of guy that
farmers and farm families can relate to.

|
|
Straight
forward,
believable,
and a
total
pro,
that is
Lyle
Romine.
Dedicated
to his
listeners,
Lyle can
be found
on the
road
traveling
with his
microphone
to
numerous
agricultural
shows,
meetings
and
events
across
the
Dakotas.
A native
of
Devils
Lake,
North
Dakota,
Lyle
started
his
career
there at
a local
station.
Since
then,
his
knowledge
of
agriculture
and
thorough
professionalism
have
brought
him
numerous
accolades
and rave
reviews
from
fellow
broadcasters
and
listeners
alike.
Lyle has
been a
member
of the
National
Association
of Farm
Broadcasters
for over
25 years.
Lyle
Romine.
We are
very
proud to
feature
him as
“The
Voice of

Rusty
Halvorson -
Associate
Farm
Director
With
family roots in
radio and
agriculture, it was a natural fit when Rusty Halvorson joined the American Ag Network
over
a
decade ago.
Working
on-air since
his mid
teens,
Rusty's
communication
skills,
dedication,
and
knowledge of
agriculture are the
reasons we
invited him to
join the
American Ag
Network.
|
|
|
|
Hailing from
Williston,
North Dakota,
Rusty earned
his
Associate
of
Science
degree
in
Pre-Veterinary
Medicine
at
Williston
State
College
before
deciding that
radio was
his
true
calling.
He
acquired
his
Bachelor's Degree in General Agricultural from North Dakota
State
University, with a minor degree in media
communications,
and
then
came
calling
at
the
American
Ag
Network.
Whenever
Rusty opens
the mic, he
strives to
deliver
information
that is
useful to
producers
and
understandable
to the
general
audience.
Often working
behind the
scenes,
Rusty is
proud to
help Farm
Director
Lyle Romine
assemble accurate and
informative
farm
programming
on a daily
basis - no
matter the
messenger.
On the
subject of hiring Rusty,
Lyle says, “I
chose
someone who
can do my
job as well
or better
than I can.”
The starting
pitcher
deserves the
confidence
of a solid,
reliable
bullpen.
That's why
we believe Rusty
Halvorson is
more than
willing, and
able, to go
to extra
innings to
get the job
done. |

Mark
Swartzell -
News
Director
If
you
want
to
understand
the
term
"news
hound"...we've
got
the
definition:
Mark
Swartzell.
Mark
is a
native
of
Jamestown,
North
Dakota,
and
began
his
broadcast
career
in
that
city
in
1967.
Mark
has
four
decades
of
experience
in
broadcast
news,
and
has
worked
at
radio
stations
in
Fargo,
Bismarck,
Wichita,
Oklahoma
City
and
Chicago.
|
|
|
|
When it
comes to
news events,
suffice it
to say that
Mark has
been around
the block a
time or two.
Ranging far
and wide
from the
Watergate
Scandal of
the 70's to
the events
of 9/11,
Mark has
been "on-mic"
covering it
all.
Among his
honors, he's
won
news awards
for coverage
of the
Oklahoma
State Prison
Riot in
1973.
Mark
has
certainly covered his
share of
crime
stories,
ranging from
the John
Wayne Gacy
mass murder
case in
Chicago in
the late
1970's to the shootout
at Medina,
North Dakota
in 1983.
His strong
journalistic
ethics,
candid
delivery and
responsive
ability to
cover
breaking
news have
earned
respect from
both news
companions
and
competitors
alike.
Mark is a
proud U.S.
Navy
veteran,
having
served
during the
Vietnam War,
and is an
avid Ham
radio
enthusiast.
He also holds
undergraduate
and graduate
degrees from
the
University
of Mary.
For solid,
accurate
news
regarding
the Dakotas
and beyond -
there's no
need to look
any further
than our
very own
Mark
Swartzell.
