(Ames, IA) — Minnesota regulators are launching an environmental review of the proposed Summit Carbon Solutions pipeline. The Ames, Iowa-based company wants to use the two-thousand-mile pipeline to transport carbon dioxide from ethanol plants in Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, and the Dakotas and store it in a permanent underground site in North Dakota. North Dakota has denied Summit’s application for permits. In Iowa, regulators have been hearing testimony over the past few weeks on the pipeline plan.
