ST. LOUIS, MO, June 9, 2025 – As part of Bayer Crop Science efforts to deliver an even more personalized, insight-driven experience for farmers ahead of a decade of unprecedented innovation in seed and crop protection, Channel is unveiling several new initiatives to deliver more performance and value to the farmer.
As the agricultural landscape continues to evolve, Channel is expanding its offerings to better equip farmers with tools, technologies, and expert guidance that drive profitability and performance. These new initiatives will position Channel as a leader in agronomy-first support.
A Bolstered Agronomy-Led Approach: The New Sales Agronomist Role
To provide an even deeper level of support and service, Channel will introduce a Sales Agronomist role in Summer 2025. This new role will be focused on delivering agronomic innovation and ensuring farmers receive a best-in-class, on-farm experience in partnership with Channel SeedPros.
“Farmers are seeking more on farm support and knowledgeable advice to help them make decisions throughout the year,” said Jared Thomas, Channel Brand Lead. “This new role doubles down on our commitment to provide farmers with personalized service and agronomy expertise.”
This transformation comes as Bayer prepares to launch 10 blockbuster products over the next decade—including Vyconic® Soybeans, Preceon™ Smart Corn System, and Convintro™ herbicide. These new technologies promise to reshape farming, and the additional on-farm support will help Channel farmers position new products successfully and maximize their return on investment.
A New Profit Planning Series and Agronomy Office Hours to Boost Farmer ROI
Channel is also launching a new monthly Profit Planning series featuring subject matter experts who will tackle timely, relevant topics aimed at helping farmers optimize every acre. The series will feature and provide Channel farmers with a weekly e-newsletter, a monthly webinar, and in-person customer events that deliver insights from a grain marketing expert, an agricultural climatologist, and Channel’s own technical agronomy team.
Farmers can also now engage directly with experts through Agronomy Office Hours Live, a new monthly social media event featuring Channel Technical Agronomists, Channel SeedPros, and Bayer R&D leaders. These interactive sessions provide live discussion and open Q&A with farmers on the most pressing issues throughout the season. Follow @ChannelSeed on social media to join the conversation.
“At Channel, we believe in helping farmers succeed by providing expert agronomic support and information that goes beyond the bag of seed,” added Thomas. “We’re committed to working with our local Channel SeedPros to deliver year-round insights that help farmers make confident, profitable decisions.”
