(Sioux Falls, SD) — The Sioux Empire Fair heats up with gratitude as thousands turn out for the 42nd annual Ag Appreciation Day. Nearly three-thousand people enjoyed a free lunch Wednesday, all to thank the farmers and ranchers who power South Dakota’s number one industry. According to the Greater Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce, it takes more than 250 volunteers, dozens of jars of pickles, and nearly 60 pounds of pork from Smithfield Foods to pull it all off. Organizers say it’s more than a meal — it’s a big show of support for the ag community that helped build Sioux Falls and beyond.
