[Grand Island, Neb.] – Farmers attending Husker Harvest Days will have the chance to see firsthand how Bayer’s Preceon™ Smart Corn System is performing in the field. Plot tours will be held at the Preceon™ Smart Corn System plot on the south side of Chief Flag Road (main walkway into the show) on Tuesday, Sept. 9, and Wednesday, Sept. 10 at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., and Thursday, Sept. 11 at 10:00 a.m.

Attendees will get an up-close look at how Preceon™ compares to traditional tall corn in terms of access, yield and management, and how the system’s three innovative elements come together to create one smart system solution:

  1. Short Stature Corn Products: Standing at 5-7 feet on average, compared to 9-12 feet for traditional corn, with reduced stalk height that helps protect against lodging and greensnap in challenging weather conditions.

  2. FieldView™ Digital Insights: A powerful farm management platform that delivers data-driven recommendations from planting scripts through harvest to help optimize performance.

  3. Tailored Agronomic Support: Hands-on guidance from Bayer agronomists, participating DEKALB® dealers, and Channel® SeedPros to help farmers maximize system performance in their own operations.

“Farmers want to know how Preceon™ is working in real fields — what yield looks like, how it’s managed differently, and how it can fit into their operation,” said Lindsey Battle, North America Preceon Strategy & Launch Lead, Bayer Crop Science. “The tours are designed to provide these answers, while also showcasing the strength of our future portfolio.”

Farmers will also see the depth of Bayer’s hybrid lineup, with every hybrid currently available advancing as a short stature option. This ensures growers don’t have to compromise on performance or choice, with stackable trait options such as SmartStax® PRO and VT Double PRO® available to fit a range of management styles.

The Preceon™ Smart Corn System is currently commercially available in a trial phase with Bayer’s elite Ground Breakers® program. Broad-scale commercial availability is anticipated later this decade.
