Greenwood Village, CO — The American Lamb Board (ALB) invites proposals for innovative research projects focused on critical industry priorities, with $350,000 in funding available for fiscal year 2026. ALB is seeking to support multiple initiatives that enhance the competitiveness and sustainability of the American Lamb industry.
Funds have been set aside for two key focus areas:
- Expanding domestic sheep production, and
- Improving the marketability and quality of American Lamb
Projects to expand domestic production include parasite control, genetic selection, and expanding grazing opportunities. Furthermore, proposals that enhance the image, desirability, marketability, and overall quality of American Lamb—whether through improved management practices, production methods, product development, animal health, environmental stewardship, or human nutrition—will also be considered.
“Our mission is to grow demand and improve the competitive advantage of American Lamb,” said ALB Chairman Jeff Ebert. “Supporting research that delivers practical solutions and insights is essential to the future of our industry.”
The RFP process begins with a summary proposal due by November 15, 2025. Selected teams will be invited to submit detailed proposals, with funding decisions finalized in early 2026. Proposals should demonstrate clear industry impact and adhere to ALB’s research policies, including limitations on overhead costs and requirements for project reporting and dissemination.
