CHICAGO, Jan. 8, 2026 — Nutrien® eKonomics™, a trusted agronomic resource that provides farmers with practical insights and decision-making tools, has introduced two new calculators to help growers and agronomists plan for the upcoming season: the input planning and the dry fertilizer calculators.

The input planning calculator helps farmers evaluate a variety of farm inputs, including fixed and variable costs, equipment and labor spend, and fertilizer investments. Farmers can model yield goals, input costs, and market prices to project break-even points on a per-acre basis. The input planning calculator also allows for crop-by-crop comparisons by forecasting before planting to provide insight about different crop mix opportunities in the season ahead.

The dry fertilizer calculator is designed to help farmers and agronomists determine the right rate and source of fertilizer for each crop and create accurate, cost-effective blends. By aligning with the principles of 4R Nutrient Stewardship, the tool helps turn nutrient targets into precise product application rates. It allows farmers to model costs, customize blends based on soil reports and crop needs, and implement the right rate of nutrients based on the principles of 4R Nutrient Stewardship and sustainable fertilizer management.

“These new calculators were developed to give farmers and their trusted advisors simple tools to assess fertilizer cost and value when developing a fertilizer plan within the budget of the entire farm,” said Lyle Cowell, Senior Agronomist at Nutrien. “Adding the input planning and dry fertilizer calculator expands eKonomics’ collection of free calculators and ROI tools, giving growers practical resources they can rely on to make smart crop decisions.”

The input planning and dry fertilizer calculator join a suite of widely used tools on the eKonomics platform, including rainfall, nutrient removal, and ROI calculators. These resources reinforce eKonomics’ role as a trusted resource for supporting informed on-farm fertilizer and crop nutrition decisions.

“Growers are looking for simple and accessible planning tools to help guide their decisions for next season, and the field-tested eKonomics calculators can help address this need,” said Dr. Karl Wyant, Director of Agronomy at Nutrien.

Both calculators are now available at nutrien-ekonomics.com.
