ANAHEIM, Calif. – Minnesota Farm Bureau member Katie Wiese of Cass County was elected secretary of the American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) Young Farmers & Ranchers Committee, during the AFBF Annual Convention in Anaheim.
In this one-year national leadership role representing young agricultural leaders from across the country, Wiese will help guide the work of the Committee, supporting leadership development, policy engagement, and grassroots advocacy efforts nationwide.
“I am honored to serve in this role and represent Minnesota on the national level,” Wiese said. “Farm Bureau has played a pivotal role in my leadership journey, and I look forward to working with young farmers and ranchers from across the country to advocate for our industry and ensure a strong future for agriculture.”
Wiese and her husband Dustin manage a multi-generational Angus seedstock and cow-calf ranch and diversified farm enterprises. Beyond the ranch, Wiese has been deeply involved in Farm Bureau at the county and state levels, including serving on the Minnesota Farm Bureau Young Farmers & Ranchers Committee, chairing the committee in 2023, and serving on the Minnesota Farm Bureau Board of Directors.
Her leadership extends beyond Farm Bureau. Wiese has held numerous roles within agricultural organizations, including Minnesota Cattlewomen, and has been actively involved in community and church leadership. She is also known for her commitment to agricultural education and advocacy, helping bridge the gap between consumers and farmers while supporting opportunities for young producers.
The American Farm Bureau Federation Young Farmers & Ranchers Committee provides leadership development opportunities for young agriculturalists ages 18–35 and works to ensure their voices are heard in policy discussions at the national level.
