WASHINGTON, DC – After a nationwide search, the National Family Farm Coalition (NFFC) is pleased to announce the hiring of Tim Gibbons as its new Executive Director. The leadership change comes as the organization celebrates its 40th anniversary and concludes the innovative shared leadership model with the North American Marine Alliance (NAMA). Gibbons will succeed NFFC’s current Executive Director Niaz Dorry, who will continue to lead NAMA.

“I’m humbled and excited to accept the position of Executive Director of the National Family Farm Coalition,” Gibbons shared. “For 40 years, NFFC has been a shining example of advocacy and leadership, representing member organizations fighting for policies centered on justice, fairness, sustainability, price, and real representative democracy. And, for 20 years, NFFC and the NFFC family has been an important part of my work and life.”

A familiar and welcome partner to many of NFFC’s members and allies, Tim Gibbons has been deeply involved in the family farm movement for decades. A lifelong Missourian, he served as Missouri Rural Crisis Center’s Communications Director since 2005 and helped to lead MRCC as a powerful state-based membership organizing group. His leadership experience, ability to navigate the changing agricultural policy landscape, connections with partners, and deep commitment to NFFC’s shared values make him an exceptional fit for this crucial role.

“We are thrilled to announce Tim as our new Executive Director! His dedication to the mission and culture of NFFC’s fight makes him one heck of a leader for our organization. We’d like to thank Tim for accepting this role, and are excited to continue to work alongside him.” said NFFC Co-President Tiffany Bellfield El-Amin.

NFFC remains committed to our core structure as a coalition directly informed by independent farmers and ranchers. Composed of thirty distinct member organizations, NFFC represents hundreds of thousands of farmers, ranchers and fishers from across the US. Tim’s leadership will usher in an exciting next phase built on a historic legacy of collective work over the past four decades.

“I am honored to have served the two organizations over the past eight years,” said Niaz Dorry, NFFC and NAMA’s current Director. “I’m proud of all we have accomplished for both organizations and am committed to making sure Tim is well positioned to take the coalition into the future as its next Executive Director.”

Gibbons added, “During my 20 year tenure at MRCC, I worked tirelessly to raise the voices of family farmers and working people. As Executive Director of NFFC, I’m looking forward to working with NFFC’s member organizations, staff and partners, and continuing the foundation created by NFFC’s former directors, Kathy Ozer and Niaz Dorry.”

Gibbons is set to dig into NFFC’s work on February 9, 2026, his official start date.
