SDCA Congratulates Kory Bierle on Appointment to SD Brand Board

PIERRE, S.D. – Governor Larry Rhoden has appointed fifth generation rancher Kory Bierle to the South Dakota Brand Board. Bierle owns and operates Madsen Ranch Land & Cattle, a commercial cow/calf operation near Midland, South Dakota, along with his wife Robin, daughter Sage, and son Kruse.

On Madsen Ranch each of their 12 registered brands are a reminder of the hard work and dedication of those who came before them, “All of the brands, except for one, are old family brands,” Bierle said. “I consider it an honor to continue the family tradition and keep these brands alive. Even though our surnames might be different, the brands unite our family’s heritage through the generations.”

In addition to serving as the Southern Region Director for the South Dakota Cattlemen’s Association (SDCA), Bierle served as the chair of the SDCA Brand Committee and has been actively involved in the Brand Board ad hoc working group.

The State Brand Board is made up of five members appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Senate. The Governor considers nominations for the board from statewide nonprofit agricultural organizations or other interested persons. SDCA was proud to submit Bierle for consideration.

Formed in 1948, the South Dakota Cattlemen’s Association (SDCA) was established to ensure the voices of South Dakota’s cattle producers are heard. Built by cattlemen, for cattlemen, SDCA is a grassroots, membership organization representing members all segments of the cattle industry across the state.
