DENVER— Jon and Patty Tebelius of Bowdon, North Dakota, have been selected as finalists for the 2026 Beef Improvement Federation Commercial Producer of the Year Award.
The Tebeliuses, RAAA’s 2025 Commercial Producer of the Year, were nominated by Maclaine Shults-Mauney, editor and written content specialist, on behalf of the Red Angus Association of America. Each year, RAAA nominates the winners of its Commercial Producer of the Year and Seedstock Producer of the Year awards for their respective BIF honors. The application process requires close coordination between the nominator and award recipients to accurately represent each operation’s management philosophy, genetic direction, production practices and contributions to the beef industry, including how BIF principles and practices are used within the nominated operation to support continued improvement.
Their selection marks the third consecutive year RAAA members nominated by the Association have advanced as finalists for BIF awards, following Price Ranch in 2025 and two Red Angus operations named finalists in 2024: Red Hill Farms of Lafayette, Tennessee, for Seedstock Producer of the Year, and Paxton Ranch of Stapleton, Nebraska, for Commercial Producer of the Year.
According to BIF, Jon and Patty’s nomination and application materials stood out among an outstanding group of candidates, reflecting a strong commitment to genetic improvement, performance-based management and leadership within the beef industry. Their selection as finalists further recognizes the quality of the operation as reflected in the application and the Tebeliuses’ continued investment in practical, data-driven beef production.
Finalists will be recognized during the 2026 BIF Research Symposium and Convention, June 1-4, in Boise, Idaho. The Commercial Producer of the Year Award presentation will take place during the luncheon Tuesday, June 2.
RAAA congratulates Jon and Patty on this well-deserved national recognition.
