MOLINE, Illinois – John Deere’s U.S. manufacturing footprint was highlighted during today’s Great American Agriculture Celebration hosted by President Trump at the White House, where the company’s brand new 8R 540 high-horsepower tractor was displayed. Recently launched at the Commodity Classic show in San Antonio, TX, the new 8R 540 tractor was designed, the steel castings were poured, the engine and drivetrain were built, and the machine was assembled in facilities across John Deere’s Waterloo, IA manufacturing complex.

Waterloo Tractor Operations in Waterloo, IA, is John Deere’s largest manufacturing complex globally where John Deere has maintained a presence for more than 100 years. Today, the operations encompass five sites: the Product Engineering Center, Engine Works, Foundry Operations, Drivetrain Operations, and Tractor Operations. It is a testament to John Deere’s commitment to U.S. manufacturing.

John Deere Applauds Key Announcements Supporting Farmers

At today’s event, President Trump and EPA Administrator Zeldin also highlighted several important announcements that support farmers. One provides manufacturers like John Deere more flexibility to help farmers experience less machine downtime due to false DEF-quality sensor issues. In addition, the Administration announced the highest renewable fuel blending volumes in the history of the Renewable Fuels Standard.

“John Deere applauds the EPA’s leadership to provide as much flexibility through agency guidance as possible to limit the frequency of false DEF-quality inducements,” said Kyle Gilley, Vice President for Global Government Affairs at John Deere. “Today’s announcement builds upon EPA guidance from February 2026, requested by John Deere, to provide farmers additional tools to complete emissions-related repairs. These announcements are a win for farmers and their ability to keep modern equipment operating in the field.”

“We also appreciate this Administration’s strong support of renewable fuels,” continued Gilley. “Today’s RVO announcement sets renewable fuel blending volumes at record levels—providing farmers with stronger, more reliable demand for the crops they grow. This action supports rural economies, enhances fuel choice, and promotes American energy independence.”

“We also welcome the Administration’s recent emergency action allowing summer E15 sales nationwide, which gives more drivers access to lower-cost, homegrown fuel. John Deere looks forward to continuing to work with Congress to secure permanent, year‑round E15 so farmers and customers can count on its benefits long term.”
