Fendt has unveiled two major product launches at the 2025 Farm Progress Show in Decatur, Illinois: the Fendt 1000 Vario Gen4 tractor and the all-new Fendt Optimum stack-fold planter.
The next generation of the high-horsepower 1000 Vario Series introduces four models – the 1040, 1044, 1048, and 1052 – ranging from 426 to 550 horsepower. Powered by the latest 12.4L MAN engine with Fendt iD low-speed concept and DynamicPerformance technology, the Gen4 is built for heavy tillage, large-scale seeding, and transport demands. Operator-focused upgrades include a new cabin design with optional foot pegs, a coolbox, and dust extraction. For digital integration, the tractor can be factory-unlocked for PTx OutRun automation, enabling autonomous grain cart and tillage functions.
“With the Gen4, we’ve raised the bar again and not just in terms of power but in operator comfort, fuel efficiency and digital integration,” said David Soliday, Senior Marketing Manager at Fendt. “Most importantly, we’re preparing customers for the future with the first Fendt tractor that can support autonomous operation through PTx OutRun.”
Alongside the tractor launch, Fendt introduced its first stack-fold planter, the Fendt Optimum. Designed for flexibility and precision across variable terrain, the Optimum uses four hinge points and wing downforce to maintain ground contact and consistent depth. Farmers can choose between individual row hoppers or a 55-bushel center fill option, with full integration of Precision Planting technology for precise seed placement and emergence.
“The Optimum planter is a completely new chapter for Fendt,” said Arthur Santos, Marketing Manager at Fendt. “No matter the terrain, the Optimum is engineered to deliver unmatched seed placement and agronomic performance at the highest level.”
The Fendt 1000 Vario Gen4 will be available for order in late 2025 with deliveries in 2026. The Optimum planter will enter pre-sales in 2026. Additional updates at the show include a new dry fertilizer system for the Momentum planter, upgrades to the Rogator 900 Series applicator, and enhanced Gold Star Customer Care with expanded PTx connectivity.
