
Twelve seedstock producers representing four breeds of cattle were showcased during the North Dakota Stockmen’s Association’s (NDSA) 38th Annual All Breeds Cattle Tour Oct. 6-7. This year’s tour highlighted beef producers from the Steele, N.D., area and welcomed more than 175 attendees from across the region.
“The breeders showcased tremendous pride in their programs,” said Tour Chairman Jaxon Deckert of Arena, N.D. “They were eager to open their operations and share the genetics, management and dedication that make their operations successful.”
The two-day tour commenced with registration at the Steele Inn & Suites in Steele N.D. From there, the tour departed for visits to Koester Red Angus, Steele, N.D. with guest Thompson Angus, Kintyre, N.D.; C Diamond Inc., Dawson, N.D.; Weigel Angus Ranch, Kintyre, N.D.; Lazy C Diamond Ranch, Kintyre, N.D.; TLC Vetsch Angus Ranch, Hazelton, N.D.; Kalberer Ranch, Hazelton, N.D.; and Bichler Simmentals, Linton, N.D. The first evening concluded with a supper at the Bichler Simmentals sale facility near Linton, N.D. NDSA President Randy Schmitt, a Rugby, N.D., producer, provided an update on association activities and current industry issues.
Day 2 began again at the Steele Inn & Suites before the group departed for visits to H7 Angus Ranch, Driscoll, N.D.; Vollmer Angus Ranch, Wing, N.D.; Koski Land & Cattle, Wing, N.D.; and Deckert Simmental Ranch, Arena, N.D. The tour concluded with a lunch at the Deckert Simmental Ranch sale barn.
“This year’s tour reflected the strength of North Dakota’s seedstock industry,” said Schmitt. “From the quality of cattle to the camaraderie among producers and guests, it was an exceptional event that showcased the best our state has to offer.”
The All Breeds Cattle Tour is a project of the NDSA Seedstock Council. Planning for next year’s tour will begin in Spring 2026. It will be held in the Bismarck-Mandan area.
