DECATUR, ILL. — ADM has opened its new Central Milling Laboratory at the ADM Specialty Manufacturing Facility in Decatur, Illinois.
Equipped with advanced testing technologies and analytical tools, the lab receives wheat that is milled, analyzed, and baked to evaluate how flour will perform in real-world applications, according to ADM. The facility bakes about 30 loaves of bread each day, allowing the company to test performance and ensure the procurement of the highest-quality wheat for its customers.
Located near ADM’s North American headquarters, the new facility enhances collaboration with ADM’s research, development, and design teams. It currently supports 31 ADM facilities across North America, serving as a key hub for innovation and product quality assurance.
“We are very excited because this new lab shows our commitment to growing our quality testing capabilities and it serves as a continued investment in the Decatur community,” said Tedd Kruse, president of Milling & Baking Solutions at ADM. “This facility strengthens our ability to collaborate with customers to meet evolving market needs, and it will accelerate innovation across our milling network. The lab is a great example of ADM’s mission of unlocking the power of nature to enrich the quality of life.”
