The ASA/BASF Soy Scholarship is a $7,000 award presented to an exceptional high school senior who excels in both academic and leadership roles and plans to pursue a degree in an agriculture-related field of study at an accredited college or university. The scholarship is open to children and grandchildren of ASA members.
“ASA is proud to partner with BASF in supporting initiatives that equip and inspire the next generation of agricultural leaders,” said ASA President Scott Metzger, a farmer from Williamsport, Ohio. “By investing in promising individuals like Luke, we are helping cultivate a strong, innovative future for agriculture.”
Luke plans to attend Iowa State University in the fall and will pursue an agriculture communications degree. His impressive agricultural involvement includes leadership roles in 4-H and Future Farmers of America (FFA). Luke served as FFA chapter president and helped grow the largest student organization in his school. He also served as a regional officer and president, helping plan and implement regional leadership conferences which have helped develop the next generation of agriculture leaders.
